Young Annie

Her real name was "Orphan Annie" because she came to us in 1991 at 5 weeks of age and only weighed 27 ounces. Her mother had rejected her.  The owner could not afford to take her to a Vet. and so the owner gave her to me.

The Vet. was not sure we could save her. But I fed her a mixture of baby food and honey every two hours for about three or four weeks. By the age of about 4 months, as shown here, Annie had made a full recovery and became very confident ( read SPOILED ) of herself. Of course that meant she had to go with me ever where I went.

She did so until she decided I could not go anywhere without her. Annie was a regular fixture at my hangar until she got to feeling really bad from the liver cancer that finally claimed her.  Putting her down was one of the hardest things I ever had to do.

I know she is Waiting at the Bridge…..
